Look out for a new page on my website. It will be called Your Stories and will feature stories received/told as a direct result of readers of my books “I’ve Seen Granddad” and/or “You Know Who”. I always enjoy feedback from my readers but this is an aspect of story writing that I never envisaged nor expected. As a matter of courtesy and privacy I shall only print initials of those who have contributed.
Look out for me on Saturday the 14th of December between 12:30pm and 1pm in the Ballyhaunis Library, Co. Mayo. I will be telling stories of my two books and there will also be a character competition (free to enter). Of course, there will also be a surprise for everyone who attends. Santa will also be there awaiting you in his grotto. Looking forward to seeing you there! 🙂
When I’ve been out and about book signing, at book fairs etc. I’ve been asked about my reasons for writing. I guess this differs from author to author, but for those of you who might be interested I’ve included my “Mission Statement” below:
The open book is a path to Reading, and Reading is the open door to a World of Wonderment where anything is possible. In some small way I hope to guide every emergent reader towards the path.
Had a surreal moment in Ryan’s Supervalue, Ballyhaunis yesterday. Was shopping and came across a sheriff: hat, gun, leggings and big star. After saying “Howdy there” I found out that his name was Shane and he’d got his uniform after being in hospital. What a boy!! Didn’t have my camera with me but figured he deserved a copy of my second book “You Know Who” for his bravery. Ballyhaunis sure feels safer now that we have Shane the Sheriff.
Due to popular demand my second book, You Know Who, is now available. You can buy it on my website and on Amazon. Within the next two weeks it will also be available in all the shops on my availability list. So check it out and happy reading!
“You Know Who” is about a young boy called Sean who lives with his family in a small village in the West of Ireland. One summer afternoon, as he comes in from play, his Dad asks him a question. It is whilst Sean is giving his answer that the most amazing story emerges and it involves keeping a secret.
Full colour illustrated childrens book, 200mm square, thread sewn binding, soft cover.
